Colorado Court Rules Against Former NHL Player in Disability Insurance Case A Colorado court ruled that former NHL player Warren Rychel isn't entitled to disability insurance for a hand injury he suffered in a 1998 brawl. Rychel, a former left wing for the Colorado Avalanche, sued Lloyd's of London over his injury from a fight during a Dec. 17, 1998, hockey game against the Vancouver Canucks. He said it left him unable to perform his role as an "enforcer" - playing a tough, physical game and fighting with opponents.
